In my works what I like to express is an Architectural Culture. Where buildings are concerned, each country has her own features and styles due to various landscapes, climates, building materials, shapes, sizes, heights, colour applications and religious beliefs. These differences hopefully, present them through my work. I have studied the works of artist Richard Dickbenkorn's and I have also researched on some advertisment as well as postcards for the structure of my work. I had a close look at various countries' architectural colour application, and I have chosen some colours and images that represent these countries to enrich my works and to give the viewers opportunity to savour the differences of each country. In my works, I compared the differences between western and eastern architectures which are products of their different cultures, histories and other factors. I wish the viewers could feel the magnificence of these differences through my works. |
