My work explores the space and places in which we physically and psychologically dwell. As well as requiring space which accommodates and contains our present existence and our past experiences, one must also have space which allows one the freedom to move forward to a future of ones own creation. The origin of this work lies in a quest to unravel the idea of perfection and to question the notion that there exists a Utopia - an ideally perfect place or state of things. Rather than considering perfection to be the fixed end point on any continuum of quality, perfection sits in the eye, or mind, of the beholder. |
