Thomas Moore, an American psychotherapist, suggests we need "a responsibility
to the things of the world based on appreciation, affection and relatedness
rather than on obligation or abstract principle".
The notion of interconnectedness looks at humans being a definitive factor
in creating their own reality. That social reality is not just 'happening'
in the world but rather is constructed from the way our private beliefs
and intentions merge with those of others. Recognising what beliefs we hold
and how they maintain the status quo or create new experiences, opens up
opportunities for changing the paradigm we live in. |
