This
work is the second in a series of (finished) drawing/illustration based
projects which are intended to examine the links between the concept
of the traditional flat, two dimensional, hand drawn image and a final
three dimensional object which is still endowed with the essential elements
of the original.
I am also trying to find ways of presenting works, not so much within
an “urban” environment,
but within said environment whilst avoiding the numerous existing forms
of expression that are beginning to saturate the hipper crosswalks, store
windows and doors as well as various council approved “art” festivals.
Basically stickers and stencils are played out.
Urban art/graffiti etc is at an all time high in terms of popularity
and as a result it is quite easy to get caught up in preconceptions,
politics
and other associated issues. The nature of these images and their final
forms, while not avoiding these issues will hopefully be strong enough
to standout from them.
