I have currently been exploring the nature of acoustics. As I began to make sculpture as instrument, (ie. a playable interactive form) it seemed logical to move out and view space the same way. The idea of playing space is that of extracting the sonic qualities of a space. Dealing with environment in this manner allows for an alternate way of reading and mapping a space. My approach is percussive, as rhythm , for me, is the most natural way in which to extract the particular qualities of a space. In this way the body acts as instrument also which intrigues me for in that way the body is dealt with as sculpture. thumb 1 is an image of a performance of mine in which I developed a way of playing a space being played. I created a bank of around 20 short sequences of video footage that contained me percussively engaging with a space that has   profound acoustic qualities. The piano was rigged in order for me to play each sequence by playing a particular key, therefore creating a real-time editing and sound performance. Interests have flowed on as I am dealing with concepts of performance within my work. thumb 3 illustrates my studio where I have been working on a self-playing installation. This calls for mechanical intervention, rigging motors to play the space and objects within the space. Within this piece my role as performer lies more in the realm of mechanic- adjusting motor speeds, moving points of impact............
